Each image is saved at the best quality that fits, made smaller only if it has to be. PNGs are saved as JPG.
Lower = smaller files. 70–85% is usually indistinguishable.

    How it works

    1. Drop your JPG, PNG or WebP image here, or click Choose images. You can add several at once.
    2. The maximum file size is already set to 30 KB. Change it if your form asks for a different limit.
    3. Click Compress images. Each picture is saved at the best quality that fits, and made smaller in pixels only if it has to be.
    4. Download your file. Every result is marked when it is under 30 KB.

    Frequently asked questions

Is 30 KB enough for a clear face photo?

Yes. A typical photo keeps about 300 × 400 pixels at 30 KB, enough for a sharp head-and-shoulders picture on a form or profile.

Why is my file 29 KB and not exactly 30 KB?

The tool always stays below the limit, never above it. Forms differ on whether 1 KB means 1,000 or 1,024 bytes, so it uses the stricter count and your file passes either way.

Can I compress a PNG to 30 KB?

Yes. PNG is a lossless format and cannot be squeezed to a set size, so PNG files are saved as JPG, which every upload form accepts. Transparent areas become white.

Is my image uploaded when I compress it to 30 KB?

No. The compression runs in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device. That also makes it quick: there is nothing to upload or download from a server.

    What fits in 30 KB

30 KB gives a passport-style photo noticeably more detail than 20 KB. Some application portals use it as the photo limit while asking for a smaller signature, and it is a good size for small profile pictures.

As a rough guide, a typical photo fits in 30 KB at about 300 × 400 pixels while still looking clean. Pictures with plain backgrounds, such as signatures and documents, can keep more pixels; busy, detailed photos need fewer.
