Frequently asked questions

Will resizing reduce image quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp and reduces the file size. Making it larger than the original stretches the existing pixels, which usually looks soft or blurry.

What does "lock aspect ratio" do?

It keeps the width and height in the same proportion as the original, so changing one updates the other automatically and the picture is not squashed or stretched.

What size should images be for websites and social media?

Full-width website images are usually 1200–2000 pixels wide. Common social sizes include 1080×1080 for Instagram posts and 1200×630 for link previews on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Are my photos uploaded when I resize them?

No. Resizing uses your browser's Canvas API, so images stay on your device.

Image Resizer

This free online image resizer lets you resize JPG, PNG and WebP images quickly without installing software. Images are processed directly in your browser.

How to resize an image

Choose an image from your device and enter the desired width and height. By default, the aspect ratio is locked so that your image does not become stretched or distorted.

Select your preferred output format and click Resize Image . Once processing is complete, you can download the resized image.

What image formats are supported?

The image resizer supports JPEG, PNG and WebP images.

What does "Lock aspect ratio" mean?

Locking the aspect ratio keeps the original proportions of your image. When you change the width, the height is automatically adjusted to match the original proportions, and vice versa.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your image is processed directly in your web browser. The image does not need to be uploaded to our server.

Is this image resizer free?

Yes. The image resizer is completely free to use and does not require an account or registration.
