How long should a password be?
Length matters more than complexity. Aim for at least 12 characters for everyday accounts and 16 or more for email, banking and password manager master passwords.
Are these passwords truly random?
Yes. Passwords are created with your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for security keys.
Do you see or store the passwords?
No. Passwords are generated on your device and never sent over the internet. Close the page after copying them.

When one website is breached, attackers try the leaked passwords on other sites. Unique passwords — ideally stored in a password manager — stop one breach from unlocking your other accounts.
